Our Privacy Policy
At Horry County State Bank we believe that privacy is the cornerstone of banking. It is the heart of the relationship with our customers and the principal factor that establishes and maintains out customer’s trust. We shall never lose sight of the significance of our customer’s confidence in our ability to provide quality banking service while at the same time protecting the confidentiality of this relationship. This Privacy Policy Notice outlines our procedures for honoring this trust.
What Information We Collect
We may collect nonpublic personal information about a customer from the following sources:
- Information we receive from a customer on applications for loan or deposit services, deposit account signature cards, or other forms relating to loans, deposits or other banking accounts that we may offer.
- Information from or about a customer’s transactions with us or others; and
- Information we receive from third parties, such as credit bureaus.
Nonpublic personal information is confidential information about a customer that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to that customer. For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding a customer’s account balance, payment history, overdraft history, etc.
What Information We Disclose
We are permitted under law to disclose nonpublic personal information about a customer to other third parties in certain circumstances. For example, we may disclose nonpublic personal information about a customer to third parties to assist us in servicing that customer’s loan or other accounts with us, to government entities in response to subpoenas, and to credit bureaus. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about a customer to anyone, except as permitted by law.
If a customer decides to close his account with us or become an inactive customer, we shall continue to adhere to the privacy policies and procedures described in this notice.
Our Security Procedures
We also take steps to safeguard customer information. We restrict access to a customer’s personal account information to those bank employees who need to know that information in order to provide our products or services to the customer. Employees who violate these standards will be subject to strict disciplinary measures. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard our customer’s nonpublic personal information.
